Happy Birthday To Ava(a birthday gift fanfic)
it was ava’s day-the day when she came to this world. ava woke up from a shout of her mom saying “Wake up Ava!”. A while ago, she was dreaming a crazy dream-so crazy that even she couldn’t find a way to describe that dream. Ava rose from her bed and was going through the door when she saw something on the floor- a crescent moon shaped pendant necklace.
“Huh, I wonder what could this be?”
She touched the necklace.
Whoosh. A hologram screen popped out of the necklace.
“Woah! Cool” Ava was astonished to see this small compartment functioning holographic screens.
The holographic screen showed Ava’s bio and next to her bio said ‘Wishes Left: 3’ Suddenly, a falcon popped out of the screen.
“Hello. I am your AI assistant, Lame. To start, happy birthday player Ava Lim! Today is your birthday, and the National Birthday Wish Committee thanks you for your hard work. We can hear your 3 wishes for your birthday gift. Would you like to continue?”
“Yes!! I would want to!”
Ava was excited to wish 3 wishes. How she ever dreamed of this moment!
“Okay, to make a wish, say My _____ wish is _____, bro bro goo goo”
“Okay!”
“Sweetie~come eat breakfast!”
“I’ll be there soon!”
Ava postponed the wishing thing for later. Right now, all she wanted was to eat her mom’s delicious breakfast.
“Huh? Why is it already 7:30?”
“You woke up late,,are you okay? You look tired”
“No worries mom. I’m all cool-I just had a bad dream”
“Okay, you could always count on me if you need any help”
“Thanks mom”
“Oh and also, today’s your 수능 day!”
“What do you mean, mom? I’m only 14 years old now”
“What DO you mean? The policy changed. Now, over age of 13 takes 수능 to test if they have the capacity to go to middle school.”
“Oh no..”
Was Ava in a coma? How could she forget that today was her 수능 day! Ava ran quickly to her room and called Lame.
“Hey Lame! Here’s my first wish-I wish for my 수능 to go well! Get everything correct! Bro bro goo goo”
“Your wish is yours to keep”
Ava sighed of relief. Okay, no need to panic now, everything’s set.
“I should better get going now. I can’t be late for 수능“
Ava packed up her bag, left her electronics but took the necklace just in case.
“Bye mom!” Ava said as she walked through the front door.
As she opened the lobby door, she was greeted by a gusty wind and heavy snow.
“Dang it, I totally forgot it was snowing. I’m too lazy to go back-maybe I should just wish for it? Lame, my second wish is to have an umbrella. Bro bro goo goo!”
“Your wish is yours to keep” Lame said automatically.
Ava looked around for the umbrella. She couldn’t find one. Wait, was all this just a scam? Ava was about to get frustrated when something shined by the sunlight-an umbrella! She finally found an umbrella!
“Huh, I guess this wishing thing ain’t a scam? Oh wait-I’m late!!”
Ava ran to the bus station. Luckily, the bus was waiting for her.
‘Whew,’ Ava sighed. Now all she had to do was to go to the 수능 place in peace.

“The next stop is: Kije High”
Ava picked up her bag and got off the bus. She nervously walked to the front gate and got in. The school was full of kids chattering about the test.
“How could they have Arabic tests instead of English?”
“I know right? They even put ‘anatomy’ instead of science. How are we supposed to dissect body parts?”
What was going on? Why are there weird subjects instead of the usual ones? Ava couldn’t get ahold of this. She decided to wish for everything not to happen.
“Lame! I wish that everything here was fake and I can just go home”
Suddenly, with a ‘Eeeeeee’ sound, everything disappeared. The kids, the teachers, even classrooms all disappeared.
“Lame, what happened? Everyone’s gone!”
“Sorry. I cannot answer to your question due to the lack of your wishes”
“Nooo!! I can’t be stuck here forever!!! Forget it, I’ll just go to heaven. Lame! I wish I was dead! Bro bro goo goo for the last time!”
“Your wish is yours to keep”
And as Ava wished for her death, her soul got sucked out of her body and went inside the pendant.
“Ahh finally, it’s time, master”
