i hate school tablets (and my english grades)

welcome to my silly rant about how i hate school tablets, a thought that started from seventh period today.

first of all, school tablets are hella slow. not just the internet, which is less of a device problem and more of a '28 people try to use the same wifi at the same time' problem. but everything else. it seems to be like a million times slower than any other device i have. even that one phone our family used for about a decade (i think?) was faster than the school tablets they got one year ago (i think?). like if you tap on the screen it will take a few seconds to respond.

but what's even annoying is website blocking. this week we had to research pollution for a test, and god this tablet is incapable of accessing 90% of the internet aside from commonly used edutech like padlet, canva, or google classroom. lemme give you a few examples of what's blocked (either displays a message that it's blocked or doesn't load unlike other websites): reddit, ellipsus, the guardian, some climate action websites, wwf, and even google scholar. like why does it explicitly say something around the lines of 'this website is blocked to protect students from harmful content' on google scholar???

and finally, i have to bend down my neck to use the tablet, because there's no good 거치대 (too lazy to look up the word). i always carry one or use a laptop instead personally. i would do that if i knew when we were gonna use a tablet in advance, but we have absolutely no idea. but 거치대 would be useless if we had to type on it, and typing on a tablet for a long time either strains your wrist (cuz you have to hold the tablet with your hands) or neck (cuz if you don't hold it up you have to bend your neck down to see the tablet) and almost always strains your eyes. so i would really like it if we had a keyboard. one day i did bring a keyboard, but you know what? the school tablet doesn't allow bluetooth connection! what?!?!

yea.

as well, i'd like to talk about how i got everything correct on midterms except for this one confusing english question. i felt like there was no correct answer when i first did the test, so i half guessed, but i see now that according to korean school grammar (which totally goes against actual usage of english), there is an answer that is more correct than the others. but still it's not entirely correct! my mom, who does speak english btw, says the question is bs and so do some of my friends who are pretty fluent in english. but some people also say the question is legit, and i'm genuinely confused.

anyways, the fact that i got a question wrong on a subject i always got for granted and not anywhere else, feels like a gaping hole in my self worth. like i can't do one of the easiest tasks in my life, getting a perfect score in the midterms, decently enough. i know some people can't even get less than five wrong in the entire exams, but they do something better than me. this caused me a lot of self hate earlier, but not now. thank god i feel like i deserve to be alive now lol.
